The planning brief

Project Overview: VR, Competition & Social Entertainment

The Romania concept explores a destination where guests can move between immersive experiences, physical challenges and time together. The 1,677㎡ brief brings a VR theme park atmosphere into a wider indoor sportainment offer.

The concept centers on VR theme park experiences, a dedicated VR team competition arena and a sports-bar-style social area. The supplied renderings develop that direction through ride-style VR equipment, a marked team arena, a laser tag entrance, trampoline activities, an obstacle course and seating overlooking the play areas.

The project challenge

Connect Immersive Play with Active & Social Experiences

Different Activities, One Visitor Journey

VR sessions, team competition and trampoline activities need different play settings and operating routines. The planning challenge is to connect these formats without making the venue difficult to explore.

The concept also needs to accommodate visitors who are waiting, watching or gathering with their group. Circulation, activity entrances and social seating belong in the layout discussion alongside equipment selection.

Three Planning Objectives

  1. Make VR a clear destination: give immersive play a recognizable identity within the larger attraction mix.
  2. Create different ways to compete: combine virtual experiences with physical and team-based challenges.
  3. Keep the group experience connected: provide a social setting between activities and consider group packages during planning.
The design strategy

Design Around Activity Flow, Visibility & Session Management

The planning approach links the digital and physical sides of the venue. It considers where guests arrive, how they identify the next activity and where their group gathers between sessions.

01 / CUSTOMER FLOW

Connect the Activity Entrances

Use an understandable route to connect VR, laser tag and active sports. Keep waiting and briefing needs in the discussion so session entrances remain distinct from the main circulation path.

02 / ATTRACTION VISIBILITY

Make Competition Easy to Discover

The renderings use arena graphics, activity signage and visible play boundaries to establish different zones. Explore how visitors can understand each format and watch activity from outside its playing area.

03 / OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY

Plan for Each Play Format

Consider VR equipment handling, team briefings and supervision of active sports. Refine access, equipment servicing and session changeovers using the selected products and actual floor plan.

The NextPlay experience mix

Attraction Zones for a VR & Digital Sports Venue

The Romania concept connects immersive VR with team play, physical challenges and a social meeting point. Each area gives the group a different reason to explore the venue.

Zone 01 / Immersive experiences

VR Theme Park & Equipment Experiences

Individual VR stations and ride-style equipment introduce a choice of virtual experiences to the venue. The rendering shows several equipment formats placed beside the dedicated arena area.

During product selection, consider available content, session length and the preferred player format. Equipment handling, briefing points and guest changeovers help define how these stations operate within the wider attraction mix.

Laser Tag & Group Competition

The laser tag entrance introduces another team-based activity alongside VR. Its themed frontage and equipment preparation area give this experience a distinct place in the visitor journey.

Team briefing, equipment issue and session timing can be developed around the selected system. This format can be considered for friends, party groups and organized team outings.

Trampoline & Interactive Sports Activities

The active play concept includes trampoline surfaces, basketball-style play, climbing elements and a foam-pit challenge. These experiences introduce physical movement alongside the virtual and team-based attractions.

Different activity formats can broaden the offer for families and mixed-interest groups. The detailed layout considers access, guest waiting and supervision for each selected feature.

Zone 04 / Obstacle challenges

Ninja-Style Obstacle Course

An obstacle course adds a progression of physical challenges to the venue. The rendering shows a truss-based structure with hanging rings, suspended obstacles and foam-pit sections, alongside trampoline surfaces.

This area can be explored for individual challenges and friendly competition. Route design, entry points and supervision are developed as part of the equipment and operational brief.

Sports Bar & Social Gathering Area

The case brief includes a sports bar concept, while the rendering shows tables and seating facing the activity areas. This gives the group a place to gather before play, wait between sessions or spend time together afterward.

The social area helps connect visitors who choose different activities. Food-and-beverage service, event use and the seating arrangement are developed around the operator's preferred model.

Zone 06 / Team competition

VR Team Competition Arena

A dedicated VR arena creates a clear setting for shared virtual play. The rendering shows a marked playing area with red and blue team graphics and defined perimeter barriers, giving the competitive experience its own identity.

The arena can be explored for group sessions and team challenges, with the game content and player format determined by the selected VR system. Detailed planning considers the play footprint, equipment preparation, briefing and session changeovers.

The business rationale

Why VR & Multi-Activity Sports Venues Work as a Business Concept

Combining immersive entertainment with physical and social activities offers different ways to organize a visit. The commercial planning goal is to connect those opportunities in an understandable offer.

Serve Different Group Interests

Some guests may prefer immersive VR, while others choose active sports or social games. A varied mix lets a group explore different formats during the same outing.

Build Around Shared Competition

Team sessions, obstacle challenges and social skill games give the operator different ways to shape group packages, party occasions and friendly competitions.

Connect Play with Social Time

Seating beside the attractions gives guests a place to gather between sessions. A planned refreshments offer can complement the activity experience where it suits the service model.

A connected experience

Why This Romania Concept Works as a Planning Approach

VR establishes the immersive identity, active sports broaden the play formats, and social seating keeps the group experience connected. The concept uses distinct activity boundaries within a consistent purple, lime and orange interior treatment.

The planning value lies in the relationship between these areas: a recognizable arena, separate physical challenges and a shared gathering point. The next design step is to refine that relationship around the actual floor plan and selected equipment.
